for your claim to be processed efficiently.

Motor Insurance claims

In an emergency

How we can help you

If you need to make a claim

Occasionally losses do happen, so it’s important to be familiar with the procedure so your claim can be efficiently processed.

If you have an accident or suffer loss or damage:
  1. Do not accept any liability.
  2. Call us immediately on +345 949 7280 or email us at claims@islandheritage.com.ky
    and we will take care of the details for you.
  3. Immediately inform the police if the insured motor vehicle or its accessories are lost, stolen, or maliciously damaged.
  4. Make a detailed diagram to explain the accident and take photos if possible.
  5. Notify us as soon as possible in writing within 30 days of the date of loss. Be sure to include your policy number, type of loss and location, time and date of loss, and if there are any injuries involved.
  6. Take all reasonable steps to reduce your loss and recover any lost or stolen property.
  7. Forward to us any letter or legal document related to the claim.
  8. Allow us to discuss liability and negotiate settlement or recovery with any other party.

Catastrophe claims

If you need to make a claim

  • Download the catastrophe Claim Form.
  • Document all damages - take photographs.
  • Move undamaged items away from the peril to prevent further loss or damage.
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent further loss or damage from occurring and to recover any lost or stolen property.
  • Do not throw anything out until an Adjuster is in attendance - if you must discard any items, take a photograph first.
  • Notify us in writing by completing the required Home Insurance claim form within 30 days of the date of the event.
  • Be sure to include your policy number, type of loss and location, time and date of loss, and if there are any people involved.

Home Insurance claims

  • Immediately inform the police of theft or malicious damage.
  • Under no circumstances admit liability or negotiate settlement with a third party.
  • Document all damages - take photographs.
  • Move undamaged items away from the peril to prevent further loss or damage.
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent further loss or damage from occurring and to recover any lost or stolen property.
  • Do not throw anything out until an Adjuster is in attendance - if you must discard any items, take a photograph first.
  • Notify us in writing by completing the required Home Insurance claim form within 30 days of the date of the event.

  • Immediately forward to us all correspondence, legal process or any other document received in connection with the claim.

Mitigation Tips

  • Be aware of where the water and electric shut-off valves are located.
  • Keep a list of important phone numbers for emergencies.
  • Have a sheet of tarpaulin handy in order to prevent further damage in the event of a windstorm loss.
